Through what social media platform have the worlds female population decided to leave me single, is what Im wondering? As soon as I speak with one they get a text from her female bretheren that tells her to stay well away from me. Who started this? Is my photo on the back of feminine hygiene products? How did they manage a 3.5 Billion woman + u know what block? I am going to the blind home today to find a female who has not been able to read the texts. Who is behind this: Oprah, Miley Cyrus, and the people at Kotex?

Question by katie: Can I ask this guy for help?
So there is this guy who in his very drunken state admitted he liked me & found me attractive, but I had just broken up with my ex that week so I was on the rebound & in my drunken state I told him I didn’t want anything serious, just wanted to have fun for a night with him but not tell the co-workers, keep it btwn us. We almost hook up but we were taking separate cabs to the next bar we were going to & on my way there I realized I forgot my purse at the LAST bar so we go back (which took an hour) by the time I get to the next bar where the guy is supposed to be I find out he was there but left. I text him “where are u?” but no response.

Since then he barely talks to me or says hi. He’ll look at me but not say a word. I know he likes me not just cause he was drunk because earlier in the night (before we started drinking) he was by my side, talked to me the entire time & invited me to go surfing with him & some friends the next day.

I don’t like that he’s shut down…I really like him & its been a month we work together he’s a marketer & I’m the secretary. I was thinking of telling him that “I think you’re an ace at your job, you know more about marketing then I could ever dream and was wondering if you could meet up & give me some pointers on how to use the web and social media to market my acting career.” That way its couched in “business” just in case he no longer likes me but it gives us a chance to meet outside of work & maybe discuss what happened & clear the air. GUYS what do you think?

I’m looking for some advice or opinions on this matter. Perhaps I’m thinking too much or overreacting, but I have high expectations for myself as well as others around me, and I want to succeed more than anything. I have passions and sites on certain things, but I’m not quite sure where my specialties lie, or what I could qualify for the most… Here are my qualifications:

B.A. in History (4 yr degree from UT) – ok strike one, but I believe this degree offers quite some mobility.
3 years experience working in museum settings – 2 1/2 years in a children’s museum, and half a year (currently) being an intern at a history museum.
– It should be noted my interest in these jobs were not related to children education, but more to museum sciences

I have skills developed mainly through computer and online operations. This include developing my current workplaces museum website, updating its social media/blogging sites, managing its sales when buying and selling historical rarities, and using various web stores for our main inventory of merchandise. Also, while at my current museum (history), I have implemented a few exhibits on various topics, covering individuals, groups of people, and events and artifacts associated to this history (all this work includes doing the research, the writing, and the designing). I have more experience in this museum setting, but more knowledge and expertise in online operations.

I’ve come to a crossroads. There are a lot of options on my plate, and things I would prefer to do, but don’t know how to accomplish some goals. Namely;
-I am passionate about green technology and its benefits. I retrofitted my current museums lightning with brand new LED lights and tracks, helping to save an estimated $ 5,000 dollars a year by removing all incandescent bulbs. This was an awesome project that I took on from the beginning; I purchased the lights (not on my dime, though), installed the new lighting, ran the numbers of investment, and re-designed the museum for better preservation. I loved doing this and the benefits of overall green technology (although I have no education or work experience in this subject of green – tech)
- I could go on to get a master’s, but understand that I might not need it if I continue getting work experience in museums (really the only thing I would want to do associated with my degree in History), building upon what I’ve completed so far. Law school is another path a lot of History majors take, but I can’t see myself enjoying this profession despite its lucrative financial opportunities.
- An MBA or some sort of business related degree or specialization would be really appetizing for me. I would love to manage or run a business associated with my passions (History, green tech, museums) but have NO idea as to how to take an access to this option.

Anyway, I know I’ve left a lot of words on here, but I don’t have a lot of professional advice coming in from anyone I talk to about this. Any opinions or advice you guys give I would absorb very well.

Question by flyingbee13: Career/Major advice for a recent college grad…?
I’m sure yahoo answers isn’t the best place to be finding advice on this, but I wanted to see a lot of different opinions.

I graduated a year ago with a BA in English, emphasis in Creative Writing and a minor in Technical Writing (which is worthless because I didn’t learn enough from the minor to ever go into a tech writing job..) I have writing experience working for a local magazine, and an internship with the county library system where I write press releases and edit/update the social media sites and do basic office bitch work like copying and mailing things out.

I went into college thinking “I’m creative and I love to write….Creative Writing it is!” but I wish someone had shown me the other options like going into Mass Comm/Advertising. I didn’t go into Journalism because I didn’t want to write boring articles for a newspaper but now I think maybe I should have because then I could write for a magazine (not boring) instead. I keep thinking about advertising/PR and wonder if I could get my foot in the door with what I have…

Should I go back to school for a different major? Should I do graduate school? Can you go into a different program for grad school than for what you did your undergrad in?

Could I just stick with the major I have now, work on getting more experience, and work my way up and get into a big magazine or advertising agency? I know people think MN is lame, but when it comes to Advertising/PR we are only second to NYC. So there are a lot of options for places to work in the “mini apple” as far as ad agencies go.

Should I talk to one of the advisors from where I graduated about all of this? I can’t go see them in person, I went to school an hour and a half away. This is really long and I don’t know if anyone will read the whole thing but even if you can say “go here for advice” I think I’d be happy with that even.

KONY 2012 is less of a documentary than it is a highly efficient infomercial that is tailor-made for the Facebook generation, using state-of-the-art marketing techniques to make its point. Young people like “underground movements” and want to feel like they are changing the world. KONY 2012 taps into these needs to bring about something that is not “hip” or “underground” at all: A military operation in Uganda. Not only that, it urges the participants of the movement to order stuff, to wear bracelets that are associated with an online profile and to record their actions in social media. This makes KONY 2012 the first artificially created movement that is fully track-able, monitor-able and quantifiable by those who engendered it. In other words, what appears to be a movement “from the people” is actually a new way for the elite to advance its agenda.

The video begins with an interesting statement: “The next 27 minutes are an experiment. But in order for it to work, you have to pay attention”. It is an experiment as it tests a new, groundbreaking way to get an agenda accepted by the Facebook generation. In the past, when the government needed to justify the invasion of a country, the President would sit in front of the camera and tell the public why war should be declared in this area of the world. In the case of KONY, the military agenda is disguised as grassroots activism, where the US army entering Uganda would be perceived as a “victory of the people”, effectively reversing the communications model.

Question by : My boyfriend just up and left me and i haven’t heard from him ever since.?
I was dating this guy for 6 months. Our relationship was up and down. I got offered a job out of state and he seemed to be happy for me. We were talking about working out the distance and everything was good between us. A week before I had to leave he stopped answering his phone. he didn’t call me, he blocked me off his social media pages, wouldn’t answer his door and basically disappeared off the face of the earth. Overall I’m just wondering what happened. what did I do wrong? Its been a month and I’ve moved but I’m still really hurt. why would someone leave like this without saying anything? Everything was fine in my eyes. i spoke to his friends and they say he is perfectly fine but they wont tell me anything else.

Question by Jebbie: Lack of success with relationships– Does anyone else feel this way?
I have very little success in relationships. It takes me a long time to warm up to the opposite sex and feel comfortable with them. It’s very rare for me to find someone I am interested in and this is partly due to a lot of abuse in my life. I am completely unable to handle the various games people play. For this reason, I really avoid things like online dating, etc. where the obvious intent is to “hook up” with someone. When I meet people, there are so few I like or am attracted to, and they seem to inevitably be married or taken (I’m 41.)

I managed to go about a year without thinking about men at all. Recently I met someone I was interested in, and it’s not even a possiblity because he lives across the country and was only in my area for a short stay. I know this is going to sound ridiculous but I was so crushed to find photos of him on various social media with some girl. I wasn’t going to seriously pursue him but it would have been nice to discover that just maybe someone I was interested in was available. It just seems to be confirmation to me that it’s not meant to be for me with anyone.

I would love to find out how to truly remove any interest in the opposite sex from my life to avoid the continual hurt I feel when I can’t even get something started with anyone I am interested in. The pain and disappointment I feel is way too intense for me to handle, and goes beyond what could be considered normal. Is there anyone else who feels this way and how can I handle this pain without doing self-destructive things?

Question by intangible: Is it really as terrible to think you don’t necessarily want to talk to someone because they’re unattractive?
I’ve been noticing, bear in mind that this all takes place online; normally over social media such as facebook or tumblr–that I just can’t* talk to people the same for an extended amount of time if they’re unappealing. For example, say I had a very attractive person: I’d be able to talk to them all the time, no? But, someone who isn’t attractive [seriously, he really is not] kind of makes me feel uncomfortable for a couple reasons; primarily ugly* people tend to cling onto you and enjoy normal everyday conversation. I can’t, I’m sorry. It’s just really hard for me. Go away.

Am I really terrible, or is this something everyone instinctively feels?

Okay, I don’t think people are getting it; so I’ll be a little more specific. See, I helped this person through a hard time when he needed it and I thought that it would basically be the end of that. But, I’m sixteen and he’s 22 and besides being slightly paedo, it’s just kind of uncomfortable. This certain person, besides being ugly, is trying to contact me everyday and even if I gave him advice that doesn’t give him the right to cling all over me. What I’m trying to say is, it’s not that I don’t like him just* because he’s ugly. I’m just uncomfortable because of that and the other factors I mentioned.

“Again, the persona management software has no known official title, so this is where the name MetalGear comes from. The MetalGear story starts with a proposal [archive copy] from the Office of Air Mobility Command, within the U.S. Air Force, in June of 2010.

The proposal asked for 50 user licenses for software that would allow 10 personas per user. In all, this is a virtual army of 500 personas, who can be centrally controlled by a small group of people.
